Return-to-Work: Illinois
Illinois is favorable for our Permanently-Restricted RTW Program and our Transitional RTW Program.
In Illinois, claimants' attorneys have the ability to choose the vocational/RTW vendor, further handcuffing employers and insureds. Some do, some don't. Should an attorney choose his/her own vendor, they are most likely choosing one of a few companies that are known to opine that claimants are totally disabled (for permanently-restricted claims). Should this happen, we have a strategy in place to counter. Ultimately, in Illinois, the decision on which vendor will provide service comes from an Arbitrator and NOT the claimant's attorney.
Should the claimant's attorney allow us to provide service, a brief outline of our RTW process for permanently-restricted Illinois work comp claims is below:
- Confirmation of referral within 2 hours
- Workfinders contacts attorney/claimant to schedule initial Return-to-Work Assessment
- Return-to-Work Assessment created, submitted to all parties
- RTW program begins
- All job leads sent to claimant and attorney simultaneously
- Monthly reporting by Workfinders
A brief outline of our RTW process for transitional Illinois work comp claims is below:
- Confirmation of referral within 2 hours
- Workfinders contacts local charities/non-profits
- Transitional placement scheduled, all parties notified
- Follow up on placement same-day
- Weekly timecard retrieval and reporting
